It's Time to Debeef
A video work by Dutch, New York based performance artist Kira Nova (aka Ieva Misevičiūtė) featuring the Lords of Beef Gang, It’s Time to Debeef delivers ontological deep tissue massage to the city.
Presented in the form of a music video, It’s Time to Debeef cheekily subverts the hip hop music video genre by deconstructing the overt sexualisation of women with a total disregard for patriarchal power paradigms and commuter social norms.
Spectacularly produced and utterly contagious, the work is screened at BLINDSIDE in the gallery and via their online platform PLAY.
